Call for Research Proposal 2025 - Tun Taib Chair

YBhg. Datuk/Dato’/Datu/Prof./Prof Madya/Dr./Tuan/Puan,

It is a pleasure to share that the Tun Taib Chair is now open for call for research proposals. For your information, the Tun Taib’s Research Chair endeavours to encourage and support research in the areas of fundamental research and action research areas in sustainable livelihood, rural development and particularly in the issues of poverty, food security, access to education, social mobility, local governance, self-subsistence livelihood strategy, and any field related to social sciences and humanities.”

The theme for the call for proposal for this cycle is:-
  1. Livelihood Strategies among  the Rural Bumiputera Community in Sarawak
Strategi Sara Hidup Komuniti Luar Bandar Bumiputera Sarawak.
  1. Challenges, Issues and Opportunities Among the Suburban Community
Cabaran, Isu dan Peluang Pembangunan Masyarakat Pinggir Bandar
Kindly take note that the terms and conditions are as follows:
1. Priorities will be given to non-principal investigators or those whose previous grants have ended
2. The research duration is a maximum of 24 months.
3. Research output is minimum ONE (1) SCOPUS publication or ONE (1) ERA  or TWO(2) peer-reviewed journal and acknowledgement for Tun Taib Chair in publication.
4. Maximum grant amount is RM15,000.
5. The grant does not support purchases of research assets.
6. Researchers are to present and share the findings upon completing the grant in Research Seminar.
 
Interested researchers are encouraged to apply and submit proposals through UNIMAS IRIS system at https://research.unimas.my/iris7/. Go to “Grant Application”, Click “Apply Grant” and Select Tun Taib Chair (TTC) and submit one hard copy to Associate Professor Dr Mohamad Suhaidi bin Salleh, Head, Tun Taib Chair.
 
Please note that the deadline for proposal submission is 11 April 2025.
