The UNIMAS Borneo Agroventures innovation is a fully student, focusing on the production of Terung Asam (Sarawak sour eggplant) and chili through the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, solar-powered agricultural systems, and environmentally friendly organic fertilizers. This smart farming approach enables systematic monitoring and efficient management of cultivation processes, ensuring high-quality, safe, and sustainable agricultural produce, in line with green technology initiatives and sustainable agricultural development goals, while demonstrating strong commercial viability. The team’s achievement was recognised at the national level when they emerged as winners of the Top Agropreneur 2.0 Programme, securing a cash prize of RM2,500, further strengthening the potential for commercialisation and market expansion. As part of their long-term sustainability strategy, the group has successfully registered their company with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM), reflecting the readiness of UNIMAS students, to transition from an academic project into a real business entity with significant economic and social impact.
